Dear Parent or Guardian,
Summer has arrived! We here at LISA are wishing you a wonderful and safe summer full of family time. During the summer, there is always the chance of student learning setbacks with almost three months of no time at school. These unprecedented times of quarantine have brought significant interruptions to learning; yet, LISA Academy challenged itself to continuously deliver high quality education to all students. We want to continue on this path by offering our students the chance to work in grade level Brain Quest activity workbooks over the summer. Therefore, we have purchased these workbooks for each student to use this summer. Please let your child get ready for his or her next grade level by completing some or all of this workbook over the summer.
Brain Quest workbooks are the perfect tool to help children get a leg up in all areas of the curriculum over the summer. Students can hone their reading skills or dig in with math drills. These are not textbooks, but rather true workbooks - best used as supplements to what kids have learned during school time. You and your child can tackle a page or two a day. Each workbook is compliant with most school curricula across the country. Students will cover core competencies of reading, writing, and math in depth - with chapters on science and social studies.

Here at LISA we know that nothing beats being in a classroom with a teacher. We hope the 2021-2022 school year will look more like a pre-pandemic learning environment. During the summer, please continue to model the behavior you want your children to emulate, read daily with and to your children to emphasize the importance of literacy, participate in the Brain Quest activities, and watch and discuss age-appropriate movies and documentaries with your children. You are your child’s first and most important teacher. No one knows and understands their fears, learning styles, hopes and dreams better than you.
